First few days in Early Years

What a wonderful start to the new term! We could see that the returning pupils came into school rested and keen to learn and the new children were excited about their new classrooms. As you may have noticed if you are a returning parent, the school was very busy over the Summer preparing the new F2 classrooms and Dining Room. I am sure you will agree that these are welcome changes and that the F2 children feel extra special in their own section of the Early Years.

While the children are settling, some classes have focused on activities in the classrooms but as soon as the children gain confidence with leaving their parents they will all have the opportunities to visit the different specialist areas such as outdoors, the soft play room, library, swimming pool and sand pit. The F3 children will also have a new specialist Art teacher, Mr Daniel. He will be working with the children on a special project which we will surprise you with later in the year.

This year, we will follow Class Dojo online in the Early Years alongside the Primary. We will no longer use the Tapestry online to share observations or pictures with you. Class Dojo is a fantastic way for us to communicate with you as parents. All staff in the Early Years can share department, class or individual photos or videos about what your child’s learning during the day. All children will have a letter with a code on it that will go out in their communication books. Please do check their books and sign in to this account as soon as you receive the paperwork. You can also comment as a parent and share personal photos of activities you have undertaken with your child at home.

We hope that you have all felt supported either returning this year or starting as a new parent in the Early Years. Please do speak to the teachers before or after school if you have any questions.  We also have the communication books that you can write in or you are welcome to email the class teachers. Do save the date:  Thursday 30th August at 5:30pm, we will have a ‘Meet the Teacher’ session where you will also have the opportunity to ask further questions and meet all the staff in the Early Years.
