Stellar Examination Results For Students at BVIS Hanoi in IGCSE in 2017 - 2018

For the 3^rd year running, students at the British Vietnamese International School have gained results that have exceeded the UK average for IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) with 92% students achieving 5 A*- C grades (Including Maths and English).

The IGCSE examinations provide internationally-respected qualifications studied by students aged 14-16 years old. Respected world-wide by all high-quality universities, they cover a broad range of subjects including languages, humanities, social sciences, mathematics, computer science and more. The IGCSE is one of the most academically challenging qualifications currently on offer to 14-16 year-old students worldwide, before they embark on the International A Levels.

The continued success in IGCSE results is a testament to British Vietnamese International School’s high academic standards, excellent teaching and the hard work and dedication of students. Students continue to excel and outperform UK national averages.  

• 46.3% of all GCSE and IGCSE grades achieved by British Vietnamese International School students achieved the highest grades of A* or A. This is 26% higher than the 2017-18 UK average of 20%;

• The percentage of our students achieving five A* - C grades, including English and Maths at GCSE and IGCSE, has risen from 88% to 92%, significantly outperforming last year’s UK average;

• 14.3% of our students achieved all A*/A grades;

• The following subjects achieved a 100% pass rate: Additional Mathematics, Computer Science, English (First Language), English Literature, Geography.  Early entry Mathematics and Music both excelled with 100% of grades being classified as A* and A grades.

Nord Anglia Education’s I/GCSE results at a glance:

• 1,659 Nord Anglia Education students took the I/GCSEs in 2018, from 31 NAE schools around the world.

• 50% of all I/GCSE grades achieved by NAE students were A* or A (or equivalent). This is two and a half times the 2018 UK average of 20.5%.

• 90.2% of students’ grades were A* to C (or equivalent). This is 23% higher than the UK average of 66.9%. This is the first year that NAE’s group average has risen above 90%.

• For six consecutive years, NAE students have exceeded the UK average of A* or A grades and A* to C grades.
