We would like to share with you some fantastic activities this week in Secondary
This week, all students in Key Stage 3 are working on a NAE Global Campus creative writing competition in their English Lessons. They use the book "Goodnight stories for Rebel Girls" as inspiration to research and then write a biography about a "Climate Change Rebel". Each biography will have illustrations to accompany it and students can work in pairs to complete this. The competition will allow student to develop their creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration skills.
Already, students in Year 7 and 8 have begun exploring what it means to be a "Climate Change Rebel" and showing an interest and passion for environmental activism.
It is an extremely exciting opportunity for students to get involved with and there are lots of opportunities for prizes. Students will be competing in their houses. The house with the most high-quality contributions will be awarded with house points towards their final end-of-term total. The best piece will be submitted to the NAE Global Campus so that students can compete for a chance to to win a signed copy of "Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls" and receive a special mention in the Creative Writing Global Anthology.
Key Stage 3 (Year 7,8 and 9) have been undertaking work on the Nord Anglia Global Campus. They have loved learning about this month’s sustainable goal of the month to do with life on land and how and why we must prevent habitat destruction.
They have learnt how wolves being reintroduced into the Yellowstone National Park since 1995 have led to an amazing improvement in the biodiversity of animals and even changed the course of the rivers in the area! The students are enjoying the challenge of posting on Global Campus and are becoming very competitive, as they earn posts for interacting on the system for themselves and the school as a whole. This should mean BVIS rise up the Nord Anglia Global Campus Leaderboard! Go BVIS!
