Response to NCoV: Continuity of Education

Dear Parents

Response to NCoV: Continuity of Education

Following the request by the People’s Committee of Hanoi that all schools remain closed for this week, we will be planning to open again to students on Monday 10th February.  This is based on current information, and of course we recognise that this may change, as circumstances dictate.  Any changes to this plan will be communicated in good time.

Closing a school is not a decision taking lightly.  It disrupts many normal routines, and particularly the educational provision for students.  Staff are continuing to work this week and are in school already setting in place remote learning access for all students.  Parents will receive information from Ms Lynsey Logan (for Early Years) and Dr Nici Wood (for Primary) about how the students can access tasks.  This will take place through Class Dojo.

In addition, Mrs Lisa Shuttleworth Brown will be writing separately to Secondary parents with details of activities for students, according to their different age year groups.  Activities for students will be through Teams/Office 365, and students must ensure that they have full access.

All Hanoi Activities Conference (HAC) activities with other international schools in Hanoi will be suspended, pending an agreed decision from all school principals in this group when it is wise/safe to recommence. Further information will be forthcoming on this.

We will also be writing to you before the end of this week detailing the arrangements for the return of students, and the health measures in place within the school.

Thank you for your on-going support.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Sayer
