Secondary Weekly Update (07/09-11/09)

In Science:

Y7 students using microscopes to view plant cells!

Student Parliament

Student Parliament interviewing potential new members.

Maths:

It would be great to  mention the ‘NRICH Live Problems’ https://nrich.maths.org/8516
We had a number of BVIS Students published on this prestigious website last year.  They have been encouraged to do this by their Maths teachers.

This is often a really great resource for students to work on their problem-solving skills.

There are problems available for students from year 7 to year 13 (they can see clearly from their ages at the side of the problem)

Music and Drama

Rehearsal week one complete!

This year, BVIS will present our rendition of 'Seussical' a fantastic, fun-filled musical production.

This week, the cast of pupils from years 7-13 joined together to begin the rehearsal process. All pupils have made an excellent start working extremely hard to bring the opening number from page to stage. Watch out for further updates!

Year 8 Drama: Pupils have been mastering the art of 'Mime' and this week they have performed some excellent comical duets. Well done!

Ms. Jesscica met with a local Drama school called ATH who I am collaborating with alongside BIS to promote Drama in school. Hopefully, they will be able to help us with workshops and performance events in the future.
