Secondary Weekly Update (31/08-04/09)

SU 040920

This week, we would like to update the Student Parliament and highlight some fantastic activities that we would like you to join us in cheering our lovely students:

Student’s Parliament

These last two weeks have been busy for our prefects. They have had many a meeting creating an organisational structure for Student Parliament that works for them and their styles of leadership. Goals have been set, and Ministries designed. There have been an incredible number of applications by the student body to join the Student Parliament, proving just how much the students of BVIS care about their school and each other! The 2020-2021 academic year is going to be an exciting one for the leaders of tomorrow.

Art

Year 7 have been building on their drawing skills by practicing illustration of tone and texture.

Year 9 have started observational drawings of food packets.

This week, year 10 have been researching their second artist for their coursework project.  They have started to develop their projects independently now, which is very exciting!  Sorry I don’t have any photos to send as they have taken their work home.

Geography

In Year 10 Geography, the children are studying the topic of Population. They were amazed to hear how quickly the world’s population is growing: more than 13,000 more people will be alive by the end of each of their lessons!

Year 7 have completed some excellent posters on Physical, human and environmental geography, the best of which will go on display in the Humanities department.

Have a nice weekend ahead!
