STEAM activities: EYFS + Y1 + Y3 + Y5

Students of EYFS and Primary just had a very productive week of learning STEAM.

EYFS - STEAM: Build number cities

This week, Early Years are learning about Construction in STEAM. We built number cities and the children had to build their towers using their number cards. 👨‍🔧👩‍🔧

Year 1 – Weaving your own paper basket

Can our Year 1 students become professional ‘craftsmen? Following the topic of ‘A day in life’, students in Year 1 experienced a new job through a weaving activity. The children had the chance to choose colored papers and use their skillful hands to create beautiful baskets.

Year 3 – Drawing Rainforest plants

How would the plants in the rainforest differ from the ones around your house? By using their creativity, Year 3 students had vividly and colorfully sketched the trees and flowers living in tropical forests. This STEAM activity was not only an opportunity for students to use their knowledge but also a time for them to practice their art and creative skills.

Year 5: How does Carbon Dioxide heat up our planet?

Following the topic 'Go with the Flow', in the STEAM lesson this week, Year 5 students were asked: 'How does Carbon Dioxide heat up our planet?'. This is a complicated topic, requiring students to receive a large amount of knowledge from Science, Physics and Mathematics.

Then, they participated in some experiments, collected data, and created graphs to analyze the data. These are very important skills that create a foundation for students to enter Secondary school.
