The EYFS and Year 1 team would like to open an appeal, the ‘Tet Shoeboxes Project’ to support those children in need. The concept is that all of the children in our social partnership will receive a Tet gift from us in the form of a shoe box.
Dear Parents and Students of EYFS and Year 1,
TET is a special time for everyone in Vietnam. Families are eager to shop delicious foods, to decorate their house or to have new clothes in the New year. But this could also be a stressful time for some children who don’t have much to celebrate, for example those who experience the absence of parents, carers or whose families are struggling to earn living during the pandemic. Learning the stories of 39 disadvantaged children and with the help of our social partner – Center for Supporting Community Development Initiatives (SCDI), the EYFS and Year 1 team would like to open an appeal, the ‘Tet Shoeboxes Project’ to support those children in need. The concept is that all of the children in our social partnership will receive a Tet gift from us in the form of a shoe box
This is a great opportunity for our students to build perspective about diversity of communities, to learn about empathy, and to create habit of helping other people. Most of all, this will be a lovely way to share our Tet. celebrations with other children who don't have as much luck as we do.
HOW TO HELP?
During lessons, your child(ren) will be introduced to the stories of 39 disadvantaged children. They will discuss, plan, and prepare their shoeboxes. All parents are encouraged to help them during the preparation of the shoeboxes. Here are some suggestions:
