Glen is a passionate artist, he studied at Plymouth College of Art in the Southwest of the UK for a Bachelor of Fine Art and post-compulsory PGCE. He feels very fortunate to have grown up in a vibrant, creative community and believes the people he met and his creative educational experience still profoundly resonate with him today.
Glen first became interested in education when he realised the need for creative stimulus and investment in local cultural sustainability. As result, he co-founded the artist-led space KARST, an influential creative platform in heart of Plymouth, UK. A key emphasis was given to university graduates providing them with an opportunity to engage in a working arts environment straight from University. His experience working in the arts industry provides him with invaluable knowledge of enterprise possibilities for learners who are contemplating a career in the arts.
Glen has six-year experience in post-compulsory education as a Fine Art Lecturer, working across BTec Diploma, Foundation, and BA courses. His teaching practice is holistically complimented by his work in specialist educational facilities where he supported young people with impairments or barriers to learning.
Growing up near both the coast and the countryside, being connected to nature is an important part of Glen’s life. Whenever the opportunity arises, he loves to surf and enjoys the mental and physical challenges this sport provides.
