Students, teachers, parents and school community members at ICS Madrid are celebrating today thanks to students achieving exceptional results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for the 2021/22 academic school year.
ICS achieved a pass rate of 99 per cent this year with THREE students receiving the full 45 point scores, an amazing and rare accomplishment. The average score was 36, which compares very favourably with the global average of all IB schools of 33 points.
The school and its study body were particularly thrilled that 29% of students achieved 40 points and above. With two of our students being offered places at Cambridge this year, this is the level of attainment required to gain admission to the world's elite universities. We are also proud of the fact that the majority of ICS students have access to their first choice university.
All of these statistics are well above world averages with improvements shown year on year.
Mr Chris Bromham, Principal of International College Spain said, “I am delighted that ICS students have once again performed so well in these examinations. Having nearly a third of our students score over 40 points is exceptional for a largely non selective school. We are equally proud of all our students particularly those who may have struggled but worked exceptionally hard for two years to gain the DP. Having three students score 45 points, shows that the most highly academic students are at home in ICS.”
We would like to commend our teachers for their outstanding work. Their commitment to our students and school is what drives these exceptional academic results. On behalf of the parents and school, we would like to applaud them for always challenging our students to achieve their best.
Many congratulations to the Class of 2022!
