Science Teacher (Biology)/Assistant Science Leader

•    PhD Thesis ‘The reproductive ecology of echinoderms in Ireland’s National Marine Reserve’, National University of Ireland, University College Cork, UK
•    BSc (Hons) First Class Zoology, Newcastle University
•    PGCE in Secondary Science, University of Exeter

Amy has taught science for ten years in the south west of England. Before completing her teacher training, she worked as an environmental consultant in Ireland and travelled to many places in the world following her passion for snorkeling, SCUBA diving and exploring the marine environment. She holds a PhD in marine ecology from the National University of Ireland as well as a zoology degree from Newcastle University. 

Amy believes in the potential for all young people to achieve and has worked with young people from many different backgrounds. She enjoys taking learners out of the classroom to engage with their local environment where possible, while also educating them about science with a global perspective. 

In her spare time Amy enjoys rowing, running, reading, swimming, cooking and eating!
