Chris grew up in Melbourne, Australia. His first teaching role was at Caulfield Grammar School’s experiential learning campus in Nanjing, China, during a gap year. Subsequently, he completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, majoring in management and strategy. He began his professional experience in the corporate world with a graduate management traineeship at ANZ Bank in the field of human resource management. Chris’s heart was always in teaching, and he returned to the University of Melbourne to complete a Master of Teaching (Secondary) and later a Master of Educational Management.
During his career, Chris has held various positions in leading schools in both Australia and overseas, including tenures as Head of House, Boarding House Master, and Head of Faculty. In 2015 he moved to China, where he held the role of Deputy Head of Senior School at Dulwich College Beijing. Chris is particularly passionate about holistic education, where high academic expectations are met with excellent co-curricular and sporting opportunities. He believes that a true education inspires young people to make a difference, set an example for others, and serve the community.
Chris is joined in Vietnam by his wife, LJ, who is also an educator, and his young son, Elias. When he is not working, Chris loves travelling, playing sports, reading literature, and getting involved in the community.
