Inclusion in education involves continuous change, mutual respect and constant support.

As we live in a world that is ever changing, it is increasingly crucial to embrace the diversity and differences that make us all unique at Northbridge International School Cambodia. Inclusion in education involves continuous change, mutual respect and constant support. 

The principle of education is based on the premise that education for all is considered a human right, and that all students deserve equal opportunities to accessing any of the four programmes provided by the IB.

Students that come from all parts of the world bring with them a distinction from others. Inclusion is therefore facilitated through a culture of collaboration, mutual respect, support and problem-solving and involves all members of the school community.

What then are barriers? Barriers could be found in the way schools are organised and resourced, their cultures and policies, the approaches to teaching and learning, accessibility of the buildings and the ways in which their students interact daily at school.

The life of a student is power packed, unpredictable and does not always goes accordingly to plan. These changes can occur unexpectedly – Covid-19, family changes, accidents, a new sibling, exam stress… These factors can in many ways hinder a student’s learning. Inclusion therefore is not a suggestion but in fact a necessity.

Our school believes in inclusion and through its Learning Support Department works towards responding to the learning needs of all our students and ensuring that all students, parents/caregivers, staff and non-teaching staff voices are heard.
