For the first time in many years the Grade 11 Mission In Action created an extraordinary combined experience at Northbridge International School Cambodia and in Kompong Seila with C-4 Adventures. With 34 students attending, we looked forward to the community building and life experiences to come.

Day One - An alternate day at Northbridge

Day one saw us spending a day and a night at Northbridge. Our day comprised of activities based around the school which involved morning yoga and meditation. We wanted to give the students the opportunity to engage in a relaxing physical exercise that looked at mindfulness and wellbeing.

Later in the day students engaged in a cooking activity in which they had to plan and purchase their own groceries before having the opportunity to cook their own meals. The students were put into groups at random and it allowed students to engage with new people and build on teamwork.

After lunch the students then broke in to a rotation of activities, including Team Building, Speed Socialization, and Cooking. After a busy day we then spent the night at Northbridge, where the students spent the night eating pizza, playing spotlight, socialising, and camping out at school.

Day Two  - Off to Picnic Lodge, Kompong Seila District

After waking up early and having a somewhat traditional breakfast of pork, chicken, rice and eggs, we were on the bus (with a few singalongs - watch the video) and off on our adventure to Picnic Lodge to meet up with the outdoor enthusiasts from C-4 Adventures.

Students learnt the basics of map reading and compass work to prepare for their activity on the second day, and then were assigned their rooming buddies, and watched a beautiful sunset.

Day Three - The Final Activity

The final day of the MIA trip had students gearing up for a real outdoor experience. They were tasked with completing an orientation course in small groups. This pushed the students both mentally and physically, but was immensely enjoyed by all.
