Grade 12 Biology
As the Grade 12 Biologists prepare for their upcoming exams, the fantastic four proved to be excellent risk-takers as they delved into fetal pig dissection. They’ve had a strong finish to their IBDP and High School careers, proving to be incredibly knowledgeable about the human body and the varying biological processes happening within their bodies. They also demonstrated that they are caring students as they paid great respect to the specimen they learned from. The Grade 12 Biology students have worked insanely hard over the past two years and are finishing strong this year, it has been my pleasure teaching them and I wish them well on their upcoming exams and future endeavors.
Grade 11 Chemistry
The grade 11 chemists have been studying acids and bases. During an investigation to determine the concentration of an unknown acid, all four students showed great precision, accuracy and experimental technique, amazingly their results concurred to within ± 0.01M! The newly learned techniques were then used to find the concentration of hydrogen ions in vinegar.
Grade 10 have just begun a unit on electrochemical cells and as an introductory practical session they investigated displacement reactions. The students collected evidence to support the reactivity series of metals and compared this with published data. A long term experiment has also been set-up to investigate the factors which cause the rusting of iron.
