Whole School SENCO

Emma Hickman holds a BA(Hons) in Psychosocial studies combined with Education and Community Development from the University of East London, (UK) and a PGCE from the University of East London (RE specialism). She also holds a National Award for Special Educational Needs coordination. (MA credits)

She has 11 years of experience as a Teacher of which 5 years as a SENCO in both British and International schools.

Her career began in London where after qualifying as an RE teacher she moved to Essex to continue as a teacher, during this time she worked her way up to be the Head of the department and managed a small team of RE teachers. Her passion to support students with additional needs was always apparent and led her to taking on the role of the SENCO. After leading the SEN provision in two Essex schools, she took on her first International post in Hong Kong. She feels ready for the new challenge and is looking forward to being a part of the Regents community.

Outside of school she enjoys being with her family and friends, travelling to different places and experiencing new adventures, religion and culture as well as reading.
