We are thrilled to introduce our new principal, Mrs Tracy Connor who will move into her new role on the 1st August. With over 20 years of teaching and international leadership experience and a proven track record in leading change, we are very excited to welcome Tracy into her new role.

Our annual NAE-UNICEF Student Summit is now underway in New York City. Congrats to all our student delegates who were selected to attend this prestigious event, which is now back to being held in person. Over 100 NAE students from around the world are gathering to learn from experts about sustainable planning and how to better address global challenges such as poverty, hunger, and climate change.

Léman International School Chengdu has once again achieved a remarkable milestone by being shortlisted among the top 100 schools in the prestigious Forbes China International Schools Annual Selection. This is the second consecutive selection for Léman, further solidifying its position as an outstanding educational institution for foreign passport holders in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

Students from Léman International School Chengdu have once again showcased their exceptional skills and talents, bringing home a series of awards at the prestigious ASDAN competitions. The school has always nurtured a culture of academic excellence and provided a platform for students to explore their potential in various disciplines. The recent achievements of these remarkable students have further cemented Léman's reputation as a hub of educational brilliance.

As we come to the end of an another academic year, we have celebrated all students in the last two weeks with summer concerts and prize giving.  All students have worked hard throughout the year and have received recognition in many different ways such as the chance to perform on stage, stars of the week and house point winners, as well as winners in our internal and global Nord Anglia competitions.

One of the most important aspects of career success is having the knowledge and skills to impress during job interviews. Recently, Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 students at LIS secondary school had the opportunity to gain insights into this critical area at an interactive workshop conducted by HR expert Mrs. Asiya Khan, a member of the LIS parent community.

A passion project is an important initiative for Year 6 students as they transition into Year 7. This project allows students to explore their interests and pursue a topic that they are passionate about. This process builds independence and prepares them for the increased responsibilities they will face in Year 7.

Today the football enthusiasts in the Upper Primary school took part in a mini football tournament. By happy coincidence the timing of this event coincided with Children's Day, so I'm sure everyone involved had an enjoyable time! The tournament was played in the spirit of fair play and camaraderie that I would expect from Léman students!

The Léman International School held its Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony at the Fairmont Hotel on Monday 22nd May. In attendance were the graduates, their families, classmates, and friends, all of whom had come to celebrate the occasion. Year 8/9 Language Acquisition students recently had the opportunity to explore the famous Jinli Pedestrian Street in Chengdu, China. As part of their language studies, the students have been learning about street foods, food carts, and how foods can influence culture. They've also been working on developing their own business ideas for a food company, including creating menus, recipes, and information books.

The annual DP Visual Arts Exhibition at Léman International School Chengdu, featuring the artworks of Year 13 and Year 12 Visual Arts students, was a resounding success this year. The exhibition showcased the remarkable talents and skills of the students, and the artwork on display was a true reflection of their growth and development as artists.

On April 15th, representing the Léman International School Chengdu, Mr. Robert Dolan, the Deputy Head of Primary, attended the Child Friendly organized by the Tianfu New Area. He introduced the inclusive service available to students including EAL, SEN support, well-being and student pastoral service at our school.  Followed, a child-friendly carnival was hosted in Luxelake and it was successfully concluded thanks to the efforts of the Léman community. The event focused heavily on the young generation, as emphasized by the SDGs, and was similar to a bazaar.

The Pirates of the Curry Bean finale was an amazing event that showcased the talent and hard work of everyone involved. From the amazing children who performed to the dedicated directors, choreographers, and musical directors, everyone worked together to create a truly unforgettable experience. The show was a demonstration to the power of the arts, and how they can bring people together and inspire creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.

It has been wonderful walking around our Primary school and seeing some of the awesome scientific things happening in our classrooms. From our youngest children all the way to our Year 6 children, everyone has been putting their scientific skills to the test.

At the end of every IPC unit, the students engage in an 'exit point'. The year 1 exit point signified the end of our unit 'buildings'.
