Students from the age of 3 to 6 years (KG3, KG4 and Infants/Kindergarten) learn and play in their classrooms and in our communal Early Years facility, Tír na nÓg. `Land of the Young' in the Irish language, is a space where children share activities across a range of free-flowing learning areas.

Placing the child at the centre of their education, all learning experiences, lessons and programmes at our Early Years International school are designed to meet our students’ individual needs. Learning through enquiry and continuous reflection, the PYP helps students develop knowledge, skills and conceptual understandings to make a difference in their own lives, their communities and beyond. Focusing on intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth, they cultivate a sense of international-mindedness and are encouraged to take meaningful action.

The PYP Learner in the Early Years

In our British curriculum for Early Years, we offer our young students authentic and holistic learning experiences focussing on key developmental skills. Our learning community values the early years as a time in which play is the primary vehicle for enquiry and the foundation for future learning. Providing opportunities for students to enquire into important concepts and personal interests, play also involves choice, promotes action and leads to exploration and discovery.

Our smaller class sizes facilitate personalised learning to address your child’s natural curiosity, foster a love of learning and enable them to flourish. Having access to a wide range of purpose-built facilities, both indoors and outdoors, students learn and play in stimulating classroom environments and in our communal free-flowing areas, promoting collaboration and interaction with peers.

Why is Early Years Education Important ?

Embedded within our enquiry-based learning, students will explore oral and written language and develop their knowledge and understanding of phonics. This ensures early success in reading, writing and spelling, providing a platform for future educational development. Students are also provided with opportunities and learning experiences to explore important mathematical concepts and develop an understanding of number, shape, measure and spatial awareness, which will prove crucial as their studies progress.
