Frequently asked questions

  • Do you admit students throughout the year?
NAIS Dublin offers rolling admissions, meaning we enrol students all through the school year. Our teachers are used to settling in students at short notice, and we provide a full onboarding service helping students integrate into their relevant year group, make friends and catch up on where they need to be in the curriculum.

  • What curriculum do you follow?
NAIS follows the International Baccalaureate (IB), a world-renowned education programme which provides students with a vast array of essential skills, sure to turn them into lifelong lovers of learning! The IB is even flexible enough to be able to integrate Irish language, history and cultural studies at all school levels.
  • What foreign languages do you teach?
Early Years and Primary students (KG4 to Grade 5) have the opportunity to take a language acquisition course in Spanish, French or Mandarin. Secondary students may also choose to take a course in any of those three languages, as well as German. Additionally, we’re proud to offer Irish as a co-curricular activity to students from KG4 to Grade 12.
  • Do you provide English Language Support (ELS)?
One of our school’s greatest strengths is our ability to integrate students whose mother tongue is not English. We ensure that students who need ELS get the attention they need to become fluent – and in no time at all! Our Primary students may use the time allocated for language acquisition to focus on ELS. This enables them to become proficient in English quickly and effectively.
  • Do you offer a lunch service?
Lunch is included in the school fees for students in KG3 and KG4, and all of our other students can buy a hot lunch from our school Lunchbox. We offer a range of hot, nutritious meals, as well as quicker options like salads, soups and sandwiches. We change our menu daily and it can be viewed up to two weeks in advance on our parent app. Our catering service is provided by Cliff Catering.
  • Do you have a school bus service?
Yes! Our daily bus service is available to students from 3 years of age, and will make your life that little bit easier. We currently offer three routes, which run once in the morning and twice after school (3:30pm and 4:30pm). Each bus has a Bus Monitor, who supervises students and ensures they’re collected and dropped off at their designated stops. Click here for further information.
  • Do you offer after school care?

We do! After School Care (ASC) is available Monday to Thursday, from 3:30 to 6:00pm and from 3:30 to 5:00pm on Fridays for students in KG3 to Grade 5. ASC is booked on a first come, first booked basis. Invoicing and booking will be done termly. Please note that there is a charge for this service.

  • Does the school offer boarding?
NAIS Dublin doesn’t presently offer boarding facilities, but we do have a number of students from abroad living with host families in Dublin.
  • Do you offer co-curricular activities?

Absolutely! We offer a wide variety of clubs and activities. We encourage all students to get involved in the programme and discover how to channel their interests in an energetic way.

Our co-curricular activity programme runs every week:

    KG3–Grade 1: Monday–Thursday, 2.30–3.30pm
    Grade 2–11: Monday–Thursday, 3.30–4.30pm

  • As a parent, how can I get involved in the school community?
Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is elected every school year and serves as a link between our parents and the school. The PTA is instrumental in welcoming new families and helping them settle into life in Dublin and at our school. For more information, contact reception@naisdublin.com.
  • Are school lunches included in tuition fees?
School lunches are included in tuition fees for students in KG3 and KG4. Other students are welcome to purchase freshly prepared lunches in our Lunchbox with a prepaid catering card.
  • What is the school uniform?

Our uniform gives every student a sense of belonging and we expect it to be worn for all school activities, including those off campus.
