First Week Back

It was a joyous to see our students back on campus this week as we re-opened following our summer break!  Hearing students voices in the corridors and watching lessons taking place while walking past brought life back into the school, with students and teachers alike enjoying our upgraded spaces.

Teachers returned to school on 14th August to undergo professional development training as well as taking the time to prepare teaching and learning spaces for their students.  All of our staff took part in a range of training sessions, including our mandatory safeguarding training which is completed annually and on an ongoing basis.

Students returned a week later and got straight back into the swing of things, with a full timetable in place.  They wasted no time in taking part in a variety of sports, performing arts and traditional academic classes.  Students also had the opportunity to look at the newly decorated spaces throughout secondary school, while also exploring the brand new library.  Best of all were the new menus and facilities which are in place as part of our switch to our new caterer, Compass.  The feedback for food options from both students and staff during the first week has been excellent, and we are excited for this new provision to continue delivering the best possible tasty, nutritious food for our school from hereonin.

For some of our students this was their first week of their final year at NAIS Pudong before they graduate Year 13 next summer.  Ethan L, who joined us in Pre-Nursery way back in 2008 - and therefore completing his 16th year at the school when he moves on to university next year – is one of our sixth form cohort who we’ll be following a little more throughout the year as he navigates his way through university applications, examinations and graduation.
