NAIS Pudong Scholarships
The Options Marketplace event offered an invaluable opportunity for our Year 9 and Year 11 students to explore their IGCSE and IB subject choices in a supportive and engaging environment. Teachers from all subject areas were present to guide the students, offering insights into how their subject selections can align with their academic strengths and future aspirations. Through these thoughtful discussions, students gained a clearer understanding of how their choices could shape their potential pathways, whether they are aiming for specific university courses or alternative career routes.
In addition to student-teacher interactions, it was a pleasure to involve parents in the subject selection process. Engaging with parents helped highlight how these decisions fit into broader university options and destinations. Discussions also covered various alternate pathways available to students, ensuring that everyone is well-informed about the range of opportunities that different subject combinations can unlock.
Separate support was also offered to our students by way of a University Fair held at our sister school BISS this week. This offered a wonderful chance for other students to talk with colleges and universities from around the world about their course options, campus life, and strategies for enrolment. The Fair is just one arm of our wide-ranging university counselling support for students, ensuring they are well-prepared and well-informed as the time comes for their critical choices on future pathways.
As we move forward in the selection process, please look out for an invitation to meet with our academic team for one-on-one sessions to finalise your child’s subject choices. These personalised meetings will offer additional guidance to ensure that every student is on the right path to achieving their long-term goals.
At Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong (NAIS), we believe firmly that every child has the potential to become a confident communicator and writer. Across Early Years and Primary, and leading into our Key Stage 3 transition, we utilise the Talk for Writing approach to accelerate our students’ progress in reading and writing and, crucially, in their speaking and listening.
The results of our Annual Parent Survey (APS) have been released and we are blown away by the feedback!
With results season just around the corner - at least for our Year 13s who will get their IB grades on 6th July - the Nord Anglia INSIGHTS team have created a powerful piece which I’d encourage every parent, regardless of the age their child, to read.
