Gavra is a passionate and motivated primary educator with almost 15 years of international teaching experience. She believes in fostering a learning environment that encourages a whole child education approach, through tailoring activities to each child’s emotional, psychological, and academic needs.
Prior to teaching in China, she taught and lived in various other countries in Asia such as Taiwan and South Korea. She has lived in China for nearly ten years and lives here with her teenage son who also attends NAIS Pudong.
Before teaching internationally, she volunteered at the Children’s Red Hospital in Cape Town. It wasthrough this experience, that she realised that she loves working with children. In her free time, she loves reading books and playing guitar. She loves nothing more than to share her joy for reading with her class.
