EARLY YEARS CURRICULUM

Our Early Years curriculum at NAS Dubai offers a child-centred and holistic approach to learning. Following the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, our youngest students achieve their seven key learning and development areas through play, exploration, and discovery.

OUR EYFS CURRICULUM

Our children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which sets the standard for the learning, development, and care of children up to the age of five.

The EYFS framework is the best possible start to a child’s education. It’s also the perfect preparation for Primary school, developing the formative knowledge, skills, and understanding they need to thrive.

Our EYFS curriculum:

Our children learn by playing and exploring, being active, and using creative and critical thinking. Here, every experience is purposeful, engaging, and fun.

Taking the lead
Our learners take the lead through a series of child-initiated activities, from messy and imaginary play to arts and crafts. These develop communication skills, creativity, and confidence.

Fun and phonics
Our innovative phonics approach teaches an awareness of sounds and language. Catchy songs and rhymes nurture our children’s phonological awareness, introducing oral blending and sound recognition.

Lunch with friends
After a busy morning of learning, our children refuel with a nutritious lunch. Sitting down for a meal develops good table manners, too. It's also a great opportunity to share stories with friends.

Outdoors and adventurous
Active children are happy children! In our exciting exploration area, our learners explore the world around them by building, getting active, and experimenting. This develops their gross motor, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Specialist subjects
Our youngest learners love taking part in music, dance, and drama as part of our collaboration with The Juilliard School. Specialist PE and languages lessons, including Arabic, provide the perfect preparation for Primary school.
