About the Author

My first book for children was published and released to coincide with Paradise Park's 40th anniversary celebrations last spring.   Aimed at 3-7 year olds  Paradise Park After Dark is a colourful jump into the surreal nightlife of the animals at the well known animal sanctuary in Cornwall.

My second story Tyrannosaurus Tate was published as part a Literacy and Art community project. Trex Tate is a chomping romp of a tale with a rollicking text and a poignant edge. My story was the text selected to accompany the illustrations created by the Yr 5s in Cornish schools.  Over 100 children were involved and Tyrannosaurus Tate was released to coincide with Cornish Tate’s 21st birthday.  I facilitated the work in schools and led a term’s worth of Literacy and Art workshops in each school taking part.

Both stories received great reviews in local press are sold at home in Cornwall in various bookshops, tourist destinations and galleries including Tate and Eden project. Paradise Park After Dark was the first children’s book to be selected for the huge online book drop phenomena ‘Books on the Underground’.

The success of the first 2 stories led to my third story, Wowsers My Trousers, being selected for print by a new publishing company BNBS, where visitors to the site vote for the stories they want to see in print. Wowsers is the first in a series of magical trouser swap stories.  It is a tale about friendship and finding out why sometimes having the wrong trousers is alright.

As a very experienced primary teacher, Literacy specialist and fledgling writer I was invited to workshop and give readings in over 30 locations including many schools, community events and libraries. I was also a guest author at our Library on world Book Day. I happily tailored sessions to suit different class topics, age groups and abilities.
