Create Your Future!
We know that Northbridge International School Cambodia students and families are very busy keeping up with their regular classwork, but we also know that many of our Makers, Coders, Scientists and Engineers are really missing their time in the Makerspace!
So we have started to introduce some extra STEAM challenges that students can opt into. These challenges and activities come directly from our unique Nord Anglia collaboration with MIT, the world’s leading STEAM institution.
Before the holidays, Mr. Jack shared a challenge from MIT professor Felice Frankel. The challenge was to take a photo that combines science and art together to capture something you are curious about.
We had some great submissions, and in the video below Mr. Jack answers some of those questions!
Science is all about looking at the world around us and noticing interesting things. Last week’s challenge submissions prove just how curious and scientific our students are.
We also have a new challenge coming in from MIT! Rahi Patel has asked us to see if we can use physics to make our own instruments using water and glass. If you have a go at home be sure to send in your photos or videos to Mr. Jack so we can include them in next week’s video!
Also this week on Friday at 2:00pm we will be hosting a STEAM Hangouts call. Mr. Jack is going to be showing students from Grades 3-5 how to use Scratch to simulate the spread of diseases. We hope to see many of you in that hangout call, but if you miss it you can still check out the Scratch project here and play around on your own to see what kind of diseases you can come up with!
Northbridge International School Cambodia (NISC) is excited by the coming launch of its new adventure playground in October 2025. This nature-inspired space, set among the trees, invites students to climb, explore, and imagine, blending adventure with a connection to the natural environment.
World Book Week is here, and at NISC and we've been diving headfirst into the enchanting world of stories! This year, our theme is "Reading is Magic," and it's been a week filled with wonder, imagination, and the sheer joy of books.
Action Learning Camps, or ALCs, are often cherished highlights of students' school years. Memories of playing team sports, roasting marshmallows, and sharing whispered conversations into the early hours of the morning leave lasting impressions. But ALCs are more than just fun—they're foundational experiences that support students’ growth in a number of ways.
