Welcome to the update from the Northbridge International School Cambodia Parent Council, which follows their regular meeting and discussion. Here are the topics that were addressed at the latest meeting.

Keeping the Sports Hall clean:

It has been exceptionally windy lately, and as a result dead leaves and other rubbish have blown into the Sports Hall.

Two cleaning staff are now assigned full time to maintain cleanliness at the Sports Hall and Aquatic Centre, with new cleaning equipment purchased specially for this purpose.

Birthday cakes in the classrooms:

Students (especially in Primary) like to celebrate their birthdays with their classmates in the classroom by bringing a birthday cake, and are sad when the cake is not accepted at the gate due to current restrictions on deliveries. Mr Richard will discuss this matter with the heads of Primary and Secondary.

Aquatics Centre and Running Track update:

Although the pool is technically finished, the contractor is still working on some final details to make it competition ready.  Clearing and cleaning of the area around the centre will take a couple of weeks, and a specialist from Singapore will soon be arriving to install the electronics system.

Students will have the chance to visit and walk through the centre next week during their PE classes, while parents will then be invited for a walkthrough at the next Parent Coffee Morning on January 29. The expected grand opening of the Aquatics Centre will be on March 24-25.

Discussion on the running track is ongoing, with more information to be shared at a later time.

Where can parents pick up their children after LEAP activities?

Students exit through the Main Gate after their LEAP activities. Please pick up your child(ren) at this gate.

Chinese New Year celebrations:

To ensure spacing, Events & Communications Manager Ms Nel is finalising arrangements with the dragon dance troupe to dance their way around the school instead of performing at the gym this year. All students will be standing outside their classrooms to watch.

Head of Secondary update:

The hiring process is ongoing, and the advertisement has gone out this week.

Primary students and devices:

Primary parents are concerned that their children are too immersed in devices. They would like the students to have compulsory time to do their school work manually.

Parent Satisfaction Survey:
