How long have you been at BISS Puxi? I moved in August this year, so I am still quite new.
What do you enjoy most about our school? I really love being part of the Maths department here and teaching pupils that are really positive and ready to learn. I also love how the students have a real sense of pride about the school, it makes teaching here so much more enjoyable.
How have you settled into life in Shanghai so far? I am still getting used to living in a big city (although crossing the road doesn't terrify me quite so much now) however I have really enjoyed exploring the city with all the great new people I have met out here.
What's your favourite thing to do in Shanghai at the weekends? I like to go walking through parts of the city that I haven't visited before and just seeing what I can find. My favourite walk was from Laoximen to Tianzifang and then up to Shanghai Library, stopping for food and window-shopping on the way.
Who is your favourite Mathematician and why? I would say Fibonacci. He was alive over 800 years ago and he created the Fibonacci sequence of numbers, which is often observed in nature. I like how he found the maths within natural beauty.
Where are you from and what do you miss most from home? I have lived all over England, but at Christmas I return back to Surrey. I miss nice cheese that doesn't cost a fortune and my family's dog, Ted! However, a small price to pay for living in Shanghai.
