Teachers and students sharing their favourite literary characters this week
There were some impressive costumes on display as our BISS Puxi students disappeared and were replaced by a plethora of literary characters. Areal buzz around school was evident as pupils shared their favourite books with each other.
Not only did this raise awareness of all the fantastic literature out there, but it also helped us to raise money for a good cause: every student in costume contributed 10RMB in order to provide Qing Pu Xiu Long Migrant school with new reading materials.
There were also a number of engaging activities to get involved with on the day. In order to celebrate 10 years of BISS Puxi, Key Stage 3 students were encouraged to note down 10 students and 10 teachers who were in costume (with the name of their character), in exchange for merits.
As well as this, pupils were given the opportunity to match teachers with pictures of their favourite books. This will be on display in the English department until the end of term, so if you didn’t complete it, there is still plenty of time!
Thank you to all students and staff who took part so enthusiastically and helped to make the day a great success. Enjoy the photos!
