BISS Puxi Student Achieves Success in Global Campus Creative Writing Competition

23 maart 2016

Well what an incredible end to this term. Last week I reported on the launch of the Global Library with the successful buzz that it has created amongst pupils.

  • Mr Webb

This week I am delighted to report even more success within the Global Campus Creative Writing Competition.

Back in January, Years 4, 5 & 6 were introduced to the competition through lessons and homework. All of the entries within the Primary School were collated with Ms Jess and Miss Gorecka having the difficult task of nominating just 5 entries to be submitted. The competition had received over 290 entries from 32 Nord Anglia schools. These were whittled down to a final 50 and 4 of our students were within this shortlist; Jacqueline Yan (5I), Fred Halls (6P), Liam Chan (6B) and Madele Jaouani (5U). An incredible achievement for all involved.

On Tuesday we received the wonderful news that one of those students had been a successful competition winner. And that young lady is Madele Jouani with her superb entry entitled ‘Discover’ about her ambition to discover the cure for the disease Malaria. Madele was over the moon when I told her the news, “I’m so glad. It’s really big news knowing that it will be seen by so many people!”  I encourage you all to read it by downloading the attached document below.

On a personal note, this caps off a tremendously busy yet highly satisfying term for the Global Campus. This result optimises why the Global Campus is such a great tool and learning opportunity for our pupils. Congratulations Madele- I look forward to keep you all updated with further competitions and ways to get involved in the summer term.
