Year 4 Knowledge Erupts for Parent Showcase

23 maart 2017

This week, the children in Year 4 had the opportunity to showcase their term’s learning to parents. As part of the ‘Active Planet’ topic, the children had a fantastic amount of knowledge regarding volcanoes and earthquakes and could not wait to share it!

The children began by creating an eruption out of the huge 3D volcanoes which they had worked on collaboratively – starting the showcase off with the ‘wow’ factor! Following this, they shared many aspects of their learning, including advising parents on how to survive an earthquake, being art tutors by teaching their parents how to create a block print and becoming architects when designing a structure which could withstand an earthquake. For many children, the highlight was being able to share their stories which were written this term, as they were able to read their published work to parents, and explain the planning process which had gone into writing this.

This was a greatly enjoyable experience for the children and thanks from the Year 4 team go to parents for their continued support throughout the year.
