Year 1 Visit the Natural History Museum

12 april 2017

Yesterday the Year 1 children excitedly climbed aboard the buses and headed for Shanghai’s Natural History Museum!

Upon arrival the children couldn’t wait to become explorers and it was fantastic to already hear them discussing the different exhibitions. The children were incredibly well behaved as they walked around the museum and made all of the teachers very proud. The highlights definitely included seeing the moving dinosaurs, the large smilodon and the real fish, tortoise and the huge tarantula.

I was also amazed to hear and see the children reading and discussing the information provided about the different animals and fossils. We will now use this exciting vocabulary when writing recounts and non-fiction texts about our visit.
