A Special Wedding

25 mei 2017

The Nursery and Reception children have had a very busy time planning an extremely important event. Ms Mallon in the Raccoon’s class is getting married to Mr Wong. The happy couple agreed to let the children, under the guidance of a very experienced wedding coordinator, host the rehearsal of this auspicious event.

We all found out what a very big job it is to prepare for a wedding. Firstly, every child decorated a doily, which were then combined to make the fantastic wedding dress. Then, the invitation list had to be written and the Raccoon cubs got busy making invitations which were hand delivered to the guests. The Nursery children got to work with creating a horse-drawn carriage and the Panda Cubs class worked hard designing and decorating the bunting. The Cheetahs class were instrumental in selecting the music choices for the disco at the reception and performing the Dragon Dance. The Leopards made a very lavish five-layered chocolate cake and another wedding cake was made by the Nursery children, so that we had enough to go round. The Bears did an amazing job of preparing the indoor decorations for the Reception hall and all of the Nursery children helped to make a chandelier for the altar area where the wedding service was held. It took a lot of planning and hard work, but the day was extremely special and the children had a fantastic time. The bride and groom were amazing and we know that they are now well prepared for the real wedding that will take place in Dublin in July. A big thank you to Ms. Peacock, who did a wonderful job of conducting the ceremony and also to Ms Rakowski who played the cello. We wish Grainne and Dell all the best for their big day!
