We are very proud of our collective efforts and want to remind everyone that your support, engagement and generosity do make a difference. They make a difference to our students; developing their understanding of the inequalities of the world around them and installing a sense of community responsibility and global citizenship. They also make a difference to the communities we work with and donate too.
Huaxin Rehabilitation Centre ( Shanghai)
Our Global Campus partnership project is well underway and we have already hosted 2 sensory playgroups for the children and families of Huaxin as well as having them join our Garden Party. Through the Garden Party Raffle, a Y.12 sponsored run, and the donations from the Primary Class Funds, we now have a total of 13,000 rmb which will go towards our 2017-18 project of building a sensory playroom at the Huaxin Centre.
This year our Water Day fundraising events raised a total of 19,000 rmb which has been donated to Water Aid. They will use this money to support their projects for the world’s poorest people to have access to clean water, safe toilets and hygiene education.
Our “Building Bricks- Building Futures ” fundraising events have allowed us to donate a further 22,000 rmb to Chalish Village school which was at the heart of the earthquake in 2015 which killed over 9,000 people and devastated many, many communities. This money has directly contributed to the rebuilding of the school and now to buying some furniture to get the school open for learning again. Your support has directly impacted the lives of the Chalish Village children.
