If you are returning home for the holiday you may wish to think about a costume for your child as this might be easier to source whilst on vacation. Pupils will be asked to come in wearing the colours of their flag or any national dress associated with your country.
  • Next term, we will be covering the topic of dinosaurs, so you may wish to think about books whilst you are away over the Christmas holidays. This topic will include reading, Theseus and the Minotaur, which could make a lovely Christmas present.
  • After School Contact System - New information about this has been added to the website to help at  Please ensure that your child’s class teacher is aware of any changes to regular going home arrangements early in the day by writing details in your child’s Communication Book.
  • Christmas Cards that have been produced using the designs of our recent competition winners will be on sale next week in the playground before and after school.  They cost 50 RMB for a pack of 8.  Buy early for Christmas!

In Literacy this week, the children will be finishing off the term by returning to poetry centred on the theme of Christmas. We will produce calligrams for Christmas words, kennings for Rudolph, Father Christmas and the elves. It will be a great way for the children to finish off the term and show what they can recall from September!

For the final week, the children will be completing our topic of time and revisit other aspects of the curriculum we have learnt this term. Much of this learning will be within the context of an investigation.

We will be completing our term with a unit using the WeDo Lego. This will cover one aspect of computer programming. They will be learning about robotics by building and programming simple robots from the LEGO WeDo Kit.

This week we will be discussing the theme of pride and confidence. The children will reflect on their learning this term and discuss what made them feel proud.

Literacy –kenning, calligram, poetry, vocabulary, clues

Maths – time, second, minute, hour, day, month, year, o clock, half past, quarter past, quarter to, analogue, digital

Themed Learning – predict, persevere, program, sequence, instructions
