- We would like to welcome parents to our upcoming showcase on Friday 24 June from 8:50-9:40 in the Year 5 classrooms.
- On Friday 24 June we will have the PTA Year 4 & 5 Disco. Children should come to school in their normal school uniform and may bring in party clothes in their school bags so that they can get changed.
This week we will be continuing to look at newspaper articles and reports. The children will be writing a report about their trip to Nanbeihu. They will write a catchy headline, an introduction and details of their favourite activities using quotes and descriptive language. The children will study a variety of different types of reports and look closely at the language and structure that is used.
This week in Maths we finishing off our mathematical problems in preparation for Fridays Learning Showcase. They will be making mathematical questions and problems for parents to solve. The children will be testing out their problems with their classmates and making sure that they are clear and easy to understand.
Preparations for our showcase will continue with the children making the finishing touches to their work on planets and space. We are looking forward to demonstrating all of the children’s hard work and learning from this term. The children will be pulling together all of their creative ideas and mini projects from the term so far.
This week we will be reflecting on on our year in Year 5. We will be writing a report about our year, highlighting the best moments and our most memorable experiences. We will discuss the challenges we faced and will also begin to look forward to Year 6. We will use our classroom question box to highlight any key questions we have about our transition to Year 6.

Deze week zullen de Cito-resultaten meegegeven worden aan de leerlingen. Op woensdag 22 juni en donderdag 23 juni van 3:30 – 5 pm zijn ouders van harte welkom om de resultaten te bespreken.
We werken verder aan het thema ‘Echte Superhelden’. We lezen in Per Ongeluk(t) en denken verder na over gedragspatroongrafieken en het vertalen van het verhaal in een schoenendoos. Ook werken we aan een folder en een poster voor de ‘K.S.A.’ (de koninklijke superheldenacademie)
Bi(e)bbezoek en Estafette
Deze week graag alle leermaterialen inleveren. Als u de Estafettemap mee gebruiken als zomerhuiswerk kan dat. Geef dat even aan ons door. Dan zorgen wij dat uw kind het goede niveau meekrijgt.
Year 5 Spanish Mrs Jolly
Children will design a farewell card for the friends who are leaving and one for Mr Foyle. The students will learn different ways to say good bye, good luck in Spanish. On Friday we will play games to review the vocabulary learnt throughout the year.
Year 5/ 6 French – Miss Caldwell
Next week the children will create a micro-lesson on a topic of their choice to deliver to the rest of the class. They will focus on vocabulary learned and how to construct a sentence from this.
Homework will be to create a short talk about their favourite things (eg. Food, hobbies, sports, etc).
Year 5 French - Miss Rae
Next week in French we will be learning a song called Áu Café.’ Learning about food and drinks. We will then pair up and compose our own songs about one of the topics we have learnt in French this year.
Homework this week is to complete the Én ville’ worksheet. By reading the directions and following them carefully.
Topic: The End of Year Exam
The students will finish the speaking exam and make the correction on the exam paper
Homework: The students are expected to revise the words on the subjects.
