In Literacy this week, we are continuing to scaffold our learning through the traditional tale Jack and the Beanstalk. This week the children will be writing a letter to the giant from Jack and will be learning about the format of a letter and building upon their knowledge of sentence structure, ensuring they are using correct punctuation.

Dear, from, full stops, question marks, exclamation marks and capital letters

In Maths this week we will be working on ‘Time’. Children will be building upon their knowledge of time and learning how to use time to measure events.

Clock, o’clock, half past, quarter past, quarter to, measure

For STEAM this week, we will be preforming a simple experiment that will require students to formulate a question, perform a simple test, observe and then gather and record data.

Experiment, equipment, materials, problem, prediction, results, conclusion

We are continuing with coding for the coming weeks. The children will now look at inputting information with an increased independence. Within the unit the children will be looking at developing the movement of objects operated from the instructions that they decide.

Coding, code, input, directions, buttons

Our PSHE theme this week is COMPASSION. The focus will be for Children to learn how we are different from others and why that’s great.

Compassion, similar, different, celebration, unique
