  • Please note that there will be no ECAs on Tuesday 21 or Thursday 23 February due to Parent Teacher Conferences.  BISCAP and Swimming will not be affected.
  • Raincoat and Cold Weather- Please ensure that your child brings a raincoat to school for the wet weather and a coat now that the tempature has dropped.
  • Swimming - Please be aware that the days are getting colder and wetter so please dress your child accordingly.  On swimming days girls may wear dark leggings and matching dark socks instead of tights to make it easier for them to get dressed.  A warm hat is also recommended.

In Literacy this week the children will be recapping some of the grammatical terms that we have been learning and practising using them in sentences. We will also be looking at how to write instructions texts about how we made our superhero capes. We will be using bossy verbs and time connectives to give step by step instructions describing all the steps we used when making our fantastic outfits.

Bossy verbs, sequence, order, first, next, then, last, nouns, verbs, adjectives, capital letters, full stops

The children will begin to use their enquiry skills to find out about the different types of clothes that people used to wear in the past. They will be thinking about why they wore those types of clothes and the different materials that they used. Additonally, they will compare them with the clothes that are worn today.

Past, enquire, materials, function, comfort, warmth, practical

We will be revisiting fractions again and refreshing the childrens’ memories from the Autumn term. The children will be learning about how fractions are the same as sharing equally and will look at halves and quarters. We will then apply our learning to shapes and numbers using physical resources and diagrams.

Fraction, sharing, half, whole, quarter

Our coding lessons continue this week as the children begin to be more competent in their use of basic coding structures. The children are now creating codes for more than one character at a time.

Computer, laptop, coding, Expresso, software, program, keyboard, mouse, input, output, code, direction

This week we will be continuing to focus on positive feelings and the langauge that we can use to support ourselves and the people around us.

The children will recall and practise their sounds, then using their knowledge to blend them to form the relevant words. As well as this they will be focusing on the tricky words and spellings that are related to their current phase.

Topic: Two Brothers

Children will learn the measure word 个/ge and  the difference between二er/two and 两liang/two. They will also learn to write characters 两and 个.

Home work: Worksheet (Read the sentences and draw)

Na al dat stoere riddergeweld nemen deze week de prinsessen het kasteel over.  We maken kennis met het sprookje `De prinses op de erwt` en praten over wat het inhoudt om een echte prinses te zijn.  In `Willewete: Prinsessen`komen we het allemaal te  weten!

Deze week herhalen we alle  korte klanken, lange klanken en tweetekenklanken naar aanleiding van de komende CITO-toetsen.
