In Literacy this week the children will begin a two week topic where they will be reading Aesop’s fables. They will read a variety of his fables and discuss what the moral or each story is. They will then adapt one of these fables to begin to plan to write their own fable. For instance, instead of the boy who cried wolf the children might write a story about a girl who cried fire! To outline their ideas they will complete a story map and then rehearse saying their story orally.
