Week Beginning 17 April 2017

  • Please be aware that the ECA/ BISCAP/Swimming programmes have now finished.  The Term 3 programme will begin on Monday 17 April and run until Thursday 16 June.

In Literacy this week we will continue a three week unit learning how to write a report. We will link this report to our topic on Rainforests. The children will use books to make notes that will be about the rainforest and then use these notes to begin to write their own report. The grammar focus for this week will be using plurals.

This week the children will revise  their understanding of 2D and 3D shapes. Following this, they will learn how to use and analyze data using tally charts, graphs and pictograms.

Themed Learning

The children will begin an exciting two week unit of work learning about the effects of deforestation in the rainforest. The children will be assigned to a group and will then research different people's opinions about the causes and consequences of deforestation. They will then play the part of one on the concerned groups such as a logger, a famer or people who can live in the forest.

The teachers will teach the children playground games and discuss what it means to be a good friend.
