- To Winter Concert performers 7 December - A letter was distributed last week to the performers involved in the upcoming Winter Concert. If for whatever reason a letter didn’t reach you, please collect a copy from either the Reception desk or by clicking on the link here.
To clarify, this should be for students who are in: Orchestra (Symphony Orchestra); Senior / Junior Strings; one of the choirs; Samba band; Jazz band. It is absolutely essential that all reply slips are handed in to either the Primary or Secondary reception by Tuesday 28th of November.

The children will be learning the term suffixes and using suffixes -ed, -er, -ing, -est to change the spelling of root words. Children will learn that there are a variety of different suffixes and choose appropriate spelling rules to use with the correct suffix. The children will read, role play and write traditional tales, including The Enormous Turnip.
Sentence, exclamation, imperative verb, question mark, exclamation mark, conjunctions, openers, Suffix/es, spelling rules, root word, past tense, continuous past tense verbs.
The children will learn positional language to describe the position of an object. They will also learn about direction and use Bee Bots to give directions.

This week for STEAM Theme we are going to be looking at bridges. We will be looking at the structures and properties of the different bridges made around the world. We will hope to identify many famous bridges and what makes them so special. Next, we will look at applying our new-found knowledge of bridges to constructing our own!

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING AND DIGITAL LITERACY
Children are learning to create a power point presentation about themselves and their work. They will look at changing the font size, style and inserting pictures from the internet.

We will be reminding the children how to stay healthy, by the choices they make. We will also focus on hygiene and how to stay healthy by washing our hands after going to the toilet and before eating food.

Zal de Sint ook dit jaar SDS bezoeken? De (Wo) Men in Black zijn de voorbije week al op school gespot maar iedereen is nog op zoek naar Sinterklaas! De kinderen van SDS leggen de goedheiligman dit jaar extra in de watten en hebben heel wat verrassingen voor hem. Misschien wil de Sint wil een nieuw mijter? Of nieuwe wimpels voor de stoomboot? Zou een schoorsteen op het dak Sinterklaas kunnen overtuigen om naar SDS te komen?
Wij hopen jullie allemaal op vrijdag 1 december te mogen verwelkomen en hopen van harte dat de Sint ook dit jaar langskomt met allerlei lekkers !
