  • Join us at BISS as we celebrate the Year of the Dog at our Chinese New Year Temple Fair this Sunday, 4 February, 12pm-4pm in the Secondary Campus.
  • Chinese New Year Dress up Day – Friday 9 February! Come to school dressed in Chinese-dress, red clothes or anything related to the upcoming Year of the Dog! 🐶 Join us before school in the primary playground where we will enjoy a Lion dance to celebrate the New Year.

LITERACY

This week in literacy the children are spending time finishing off and editing their Howard Carter biographies. The children have been using their research skills to write a biography about Howard Carter and his hunt for the tomb of King Tut!

MATHS

Next week, we will be continuing our work on angles and shape.  To prepare your child for these upcoming lessons, you might like to hunt round your home for right angles, acute angles and obtuse angles, as well as discussing the following vocabulary:

As well as continuing the theme of internet safety, the children will also be refining the presentation skills learnt during their DVC skills workshops last week. PSHCE

Our new PSHCE / Well-being program has begun.  This week we are continuing with our first core value collaboration.  The focus will be on how to form good friendships and how to be a good friend. Students will engage in practical activities that will support them in developing these fundamental skills.

Deze week proberen we alle citotoetsen af te ronden.

Het is weer een hele klus, maar iedereen houdt het goed vol! Knap hoor.               

We gaan zelf aan de slag met het maken van gedichten!

Begrippen als de illustratie, de inhoudsopgave, de eindrijm, de gedichtenbundel, het thema, verwoorden, ritme worden extra belicht.

Cijferrijmpjes, Rondelen, elfjes, limericken, naamgedichten en opbouwgedichten passeren allemaal de revue.

En we gaan ze zelf schrijven. Natuurlijk moet er ook gezorgd worden voor bijpassende illustraties.

Uiteindelijk werken we toe naar een originele SDS-poëziebundel!
