Aruna earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education and Master's Degree in Mathematics at university in India. She completed her PGCE at the University of Sunderland in the UK. Aruna taught for eleven years in India before moving to Shanghai in 2008, where she taught in an international school. She believes that students benefits from inquiry-based learning and logical approaches to real world problems.
Aruna practises yoga and meditation to enhance her well-being. Some time ago, she developed a keen interest in cooking a variety of Indian food, especially authentic north Indian cuisine. In her free my time, Aruna likes to read and keep herself updated with the latest trends. She also likes to spend time with her family.
During her seventeen years of Mathematics teaching, Aruna has taken full-time responsibility for teaching IB Higher Level, IGCSE for six years and Theory of Knowledge - the core element of the IB Diploma - for two years. She has been an examiner for IB Higher Level Mathematics and held the position of Examinations Officer (IB/CIE/Edxcel) and CAS Advisor in her previous school. Additionally, Aruna enjoys preparing students for the World Scholar Cup Competition since 2011, at both regional and global levels.
