Ross Harnett

Ross Harnett

Science Teacher

After graduating from the University of Bath in the UK, Ross trained to teach at Canterbury Christ Church University. He then went on to teach in two high performing UK state schools before deciding to move to international teaching. His first post abroad was at our Nord Anglia site in Beijing Shunyi. Having enjoyed his time in Beijing he decided to remain part of the Nord Anglia family and joined our team at BISS. He has a passion for delivering exciting lessons and aims to encourage a sense wonder about the world around us.

Ross always aims to stretch himself in life and is eager to take on new challenges. Some of his past adventures include trekking around the Great Wall of China and the rice terraces of the Sapa region of Vietnam and climbing 3776 meters to the summit of Mount Fuji. He has also enjoyed snorkelling on coral reefs in the Philippines, SCUBA diving in the Andaman sea and surfing Echo Beach Bali. He has a keen sense of adventure and has recently fulfilled a long held goal of visiting Everest Base Camp. When travelling, he always takes the opportunity to engage in local culture and experience the local cuisine of a region, something he particularly enjoyed whilst living in Beijing.
