In School Challenges

The Global Campus runs school challenges where children and young people are given access to world leading experts to develop their team building and creative skills in a real context. There are opportunities to work in teams with students of different ages, learning how project teams work in real life and having fun at the same time.

In 2011 our students around the world were inspired by London-based art company - Edge of Arabia - to create an in-school mural.

In 2012, world renowned Pineapple Dance Studio inspired a global dance competition. We're very proud of the Puxi students who produced the winning dance routine, and we all loved the judges' comments:

"We honestly can’t praise you highly enough. Whoever came up with your choreographic ideas (especially the part in the metro station) has a career ahead of them in the world of dance. The idea of old and new Shanghai was a perfect starting place. In the beautiful opening scene, you took Tai Chi, but developed it into a proper choreographed dance. The section on the metro was incredibly sophisticated choreography that worked brilliantly. And to keep in the footage of the little Chinese girl dancing and walking around you in the last section made the whole film end on an emotional high that perfectly encapsulated how your school has embraced the wider Chinese culture, and vice versa. And your dance performance was extremely well executed. To go into those different public locations and dance with such conviction is the mark of true performers. No wonder you drew crowds wherever you danced. Truly excellent."

A photography competition run in 2013 to produce a global calendar for 2014 resulted in some extraordinary contributions from some great young photographers around the world, with Puxi students again at the fore.  Congratulations to Alina for her great picture of the Forbidden City which was one of the winners.

Our big challenge for 2013 is a science one - The Water Challenge - where students from each school in the Nord Anglia Education family compete to create a solution to the global water problem. Designed in association with Imperial College, London and Practical Action, this is a really exciting opportunity for students to develop science and engineering skills in a very real and meaningful way.
