The new reporting system at the school is aiming to provide more frequent and more detailed feedback for students and their parents. There is a new system in place, one which continues to be developed, but it has been very pleasing to hear feedback from students and parents so far. People are not having to wait until the end of term to receive reports, and the amount of detail they contain (perhaps overwhelming at first!) will be very useful in the coming weeks in helping students progress in each area.
The other aspect of completing these reports and assessments in mid-term is we get an early summary of the academic progress in each subject and each year group. It has been very pleasing to see that such a high proportion of students are already exceeding national and international expectations for this stage of the year. BISAD is now a settled and well-developed school and excellent academic progress is an expectation we all share. I have no doubt we will see outstanding results as the students’ learning continues to excel through the remainder of the year.
One final piece of news to share with everyone is that this week we received information from the Abu Dhabi Education Council that our next formal inspection will be taking place later this month, from 16th to 19th November. We have been waiting a long time for this (the last inspection was in October 2013), and I am very pleased to welcome the inspection team to the school. There are so many successes in the school that we are extremely proud of and wish to share. Similarly, an outside view which can help identify the next stages of our development is also very welcome. Parents and students will likely see the inspection team around the school during that week and we will no doubt give them the positive welcome that we give to all visitors to our school.
