Being part of a school community provides us with these moments of great pride and joy as our students constantly excel and amaze us with their achievements. In just the past couple of weeks…
· Our school production of Les Miserables took place. I can personally say that in all my years of teaching this is the most impressive, most inspirational school production I have ever seen. Our students were truly exceptional in every aspect of bringing a musical of this scale to the school stage.
· We were the hosts for the annual Under 11 Games for the British Schools of the Middle East. All our students, whether participating or helping were fantastic, both with regard to their achievements and in the way they supported and hosted all our visitors.
· And just today we have a TedX event where our students are giving public presentations under the theme of Perspectives. When you see titles such as “Why Quiet Counts” you really want to go and hear it!
We talk at BIS Abu Dhabi about Being Ambitious. This term has proved once again that when parents and teachers are ambitious the students always astound us with what they can do, and so often reach greater heights than we ever dreamed. Their participation and commitment gives them skills which will help them achieve considerable success in the years ahead.
It is wonderful to end the term with such high-achieving, inspiring students of all ages. I wish all families an enjoyable break ahead and we look forward to seeing you back again (with batteries fully charged!) for the new term on April 14th.
