It is a wonderful time to be part of BIS Abu Dhabi. Students have come back refreshed after the spring holiday and settled into their work and their other activities very quickly. The enthusiasm and commitment to everything they do is so good to see and there is such a positive attitude around the school.
Our IB students and IGCSE exam students begin their exams this week. I have been tremendously impressed by their approach to their studies and to this exam season. Their teachers have prepared them extremely well and now it is up to the students to ensure their revision helps them achieve their best in their exams. I am confident this year’s cohort will achieve the excellent results of previous years and hopefully even exceed them.
We have had Arabic Week this week with numerous activities taking place for the students in class, in additional activities and through the book fair. Having a week such as this helps the students to focus on this major subject and keeps the priority high during this final term.
The other excitement going on in the school and in the community is the build up to Ramadan. Families are preparing for the Holy Month and all the children are learning more about Ramadan through special assemblies here at school. Whether our students have lived in the UAE for all their lives, or whether they have just arrived in the country, it is a great opportunity to remind them of information regarding Ramadan and the significance of this special time of year.
Once Ramadan is started we have new school timings – please make sure you are aware of these - school and learning will continue of course.
For all our families during the Holy Month may I wish you all Ramadan Kareem.
