Hi, my name is Arya. This is my first year at BIS Abu Dhabi. My favorite lesson this year has got to be when my psychology class made play-doh dinosaur sculptures to prove the social identity theory. With the academic year coming to a swift closure, all I can say is that my first year of the IB Diploma Programme has thus far been a tremendously humbling yet fulfilling experience.
Through the challenges of this year, I’ve learnt more about myself. Infact, I’ve rediscovered my passion for English. As a result, I’m looking to pursue Journalism back home in the US.
My greatest hobbies are dancing (street dance) and reading. I still have yet to perform at school...perhaps at next year’s talent show? We’ll see! At the moment, I’m reading one of Mrs. Holden’s recommendations. It’s called “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” by the literary queen, Maya Angelou.
Overall, my days at BIS Abu Dhabi have taught me an endless amount of skills. These include but are not limited to experimental, research, time-management, improv and speaking abilities. In addition to this, I’ve met outstanding members of staff and made unforgettable friends.
