As part of his visit, Jono will be leading workshops with both students and staff, observing and leading lessons, and meeting with key members of the Creative Arts team  to share expertise and provide feedback.

Jono is a composer, musician, theatre maker, and educator living in New York City. Recent works include The World Inside Me, an opera for young people, which concluded its national tour at the New Victory Theater on Broadway, and original music for Milk and Gall (Project W Theatre Festival, Corkscrew Festival) and A Play About David Mamet Writing A Play About Harvey Weinstein (Berkley Repertory). Jono is also the front man and co-founder of 5000 Jazz Assassins, an internationally touring jazz ensemble.

As an educator, Jono works with children and adults across New York City, including professional development series for the New York City Department of Education, and numerous K-12 theatre and music residencies, often geared towards devising original works with children. He is a member of the teaching artists ensembles at BAM, Wingspan Arts, Urban Stages, the New Victory Theater, and Juilliard Global, and a graduate of Northwestern University (BS) and the City College of New York (MSEd). A Colin Powell Project Zero grant recipient, Jono has been a featured presenter at Face to Face and the American Alliance for Theatre Education Conference.
