The British International School Abu Dhabi is seeking to appoint a Student Support Assistant to join the Primary Inclusion team. This is a learning support role within a well-established and supportive team in a highly successful school.
About the Role
The Student Support Assistant role consists of supporting the inclusion of pupils with additional educational needs.
A Student Support Assistant will normally work with an individual student, supporting them to overcome barriers to learning (for example, those with English language difficulties, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties or other academic educational needs).
The aim of the Student Support Assistant is to help the pupil to learn as effectively as possible both in group and individual situations, inside and outside of the classroom. In conjunction with the Head of Inclusion, you will assist in the development and delivery of a suitable programme of support both within the classroom and on a one-to-one basis.
Successful candidates will be fluent English language speakers. Fluency in an additional language would be an advantage. Experience of working in a school environment would be desirable, as would degree-level education.
